The Kodi development group has declared the finalization of the 19.5 release of the Kodi 19 Matrix software.
The official release statement from the Kodi website presents the following details about Kodi 19.5 Matrix:
“To celebrate the holidays, we present release 19.5, which marks the end of the v19 Matrix development cycle until the release of 20 Nexus. Now, introducing Kodi Matrix 19.5: a version that mainly focuses on bug fixes and some backports, without any significant new features. Check out the complete changelog on Github.”

19.5 Release
The 19.5 release of Kodi 19 Matrix was made available on December 24, 2022.
Android/Windows Store Deployment
For Android devices specifically, please note that the update is not available through Google Play. Due to an updated Google requirement, apps must now target API level 31 (Android 12) as a minimum, while Kodi v19 targets API level 29 (Android 10).
Therefore, we cannot upload version 19.5 to the Play Store. However, version 19.3 will still be available until version 20.0 is released. If you wish to install the new release, you can download 19.5 from our servers and install it manually.
Moreover, considering the impending release of v20 “Nexus” and the challenges we faced with the submission of v19 to the Google Play store, we find it impractical to perform store submissions for version 19.5. As always, you can find the packages for all platforms on the Kodi mirror website if you prefer installing them on your device.

“Since this is a point release, there are no major changes from the previous version, and you can install it directly over any existing Kodi 19.x installation. In fact, the installation may occur automatically on many platforms. However, as with any software installation, we recommend backing up your user data before proceeding, especially if you have any doubts or if there is anything you cannot afford to lose (especially during a major version upgrade).”
